Drake has donated $75,000 to help create a studio at Strawberry Mansion High School in Philadelphia after he was deeply affected by a news report he saw where the students faced extreme challenges. The money helped create a new recording studio for the school, which is located in one of the poorest and most dangerous parts of the city.
Over the Summer, Drizzy and the rest of his crew purchased keyboards, acoustic equipment and many other pieces for the school and students have expressed gratitude stating that this is what was needed and that it gives reason to come to school.
The studio was actually completed last summer, but they’ve only now found someone to be their music instructor, and so the students will finally be able to start using the new studio. The principal, Linda Cliatt-Wayman, said, “We thought we were going to be ready to go in September. They’ve been dying to get in.”
