The Game might have a small hand in one of the most famous take downs in recent U.S. military history. Well, sort of. Retired U.S. Navy SEAL Robert O’Neill, who is credited with firing the kill shot that ended Osama bin Laden’s life, recently admitted he might have gotten some motivation by bumping Chuck’s “Red Nation” track the night they raided bin Laden’s compound on May 2, 2011.
On Saturday (Feb. 24), TMZ caught O’Neill heading into the Gaylord National Resort near Washington D.C., and was able to pick his brain a bit about his song selection on that fateful night.
“The night of [the raid], yeah, I actually listened to ‘Red Nation’ by The Game. Yeah, that’s no kidding,” he revealed. O’Neill admits to being a fan of the Cali rapper, but he has yet to meet him. “He’s got some good stuff going on,” O’Neill added.
We think Game deserves some type of honorary award for this. “Red Nation” is off Game’s 2011 LP, The R.E.D. Album, and features Lil Wayne on the chorus.
In other Game-related news, Jayceon recently announced the dates for his European tour set to start in a few days. The tour almost didn’t happen, as the rapper has been in a bad place following the death of his father in January. “I personally apologize to my fans for being late with the tour dates etc,” he wrote on Instagram on Tuesday (Feb. 20). “But after losing my father a few weeks ago I was going to cancel tour, album, everything because I was lost & in a lot of pain.”
Game’s 45 Tour will kick off on Feb. 28 in Helsinki, Finland before making stops in Poland, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Ireland, England and more. The 22-date trek will wrap up on March 30 in the Netherlands
