Rachel Dolezal, the former N.A.A.C.P. chapter president in Spokane, caught the nation’s attention in June when it was revealed that she was born to white parents, but pretended to be African American.
She eventually resigned from her position due to public pressure even though the N.A.A.C.P. still supported her.
In a new interview with Vanity Fair, Rihanna, offered her support to Dolezal.
“I think she was a bit of a hero, because she kind of flipped on society a little bit,” Rihanna told Lisa Robinson. “Is it such a horrible thing that she pretended to be black? Black is a great thing, and I think she legit changed people’s perspective a bit and woke people up.”
Do you agree with Rihanna?
