T.I. found himself caught up in the middle of the Kanye West spectacle. The “King Of The South” teamed with the controversial Chicago native for the “Ye Vs The People” track.
Tip has been making the media rounds to talk about the new musical union with his “Swagga Like Us’ collaborator. While stopping by Hot 97, the Hustle Gang leader also addressed another headline-grabbing issue involving Gucci Mane.
Both Atlanta representatives spent last month feuding over who was the true creator Trap Music. T.I. used his Ebro In The Morning interview to close the door on the debate in his view.
“The words ‘trap’ and ‘music’ had never been put together to form a phrase before I did it in 2003. So now with that bit of information, you go on and say what you wanna say. I’ma look stupid out here trying to prove a fact that’s simple as that,” said the Trap Muzik emcee.
He continued, “Before August 19, 2003, the term didn’t exist. The term ‘trap’ existed. But ‘trap’ and ‘music,’ put together as a phrase was never done before and whatever happened after that is under that whether you like it or not. Period.”
