Pharrell Williams has announced plans to open a huge restaurant in Florida.
The hitmaker has teamed up with nightclub mogul David Grutman for a new Miami eatery, called Swan and Bar Bevy, and the business partners will open up the venue in the sexy city this fall. “(Pharrell) has some great ideas and visions,” businessman Grutman tells the South Florida Business Journal. “I think it’s going to the be the most beautiful restaurant in Miami.”
The Swan and Bar Bevy will be located in the city’s historic Buena Vista neighborhood, positioned just south of Little Haiti and north of the trendy Miami Design District.
Pharrell has been working on the plans with David for two years, and the huge 17,000-square-feet space, which is the singer’s first restaurant venture ever, is expected to turn over $20 million in revenue by the close of 2018.
Although Swan and Bar Bevy marks the musician’s debut into the business, the 45-year-old has already entered the food industry with The Williams Family Kitchen, a line of specialty products inspired by his dad’s cooking and other family recipes, which he unveiled last year (17).
The star partnered with bosses at gourmet grocery store company Dean & DeLuca on items for The Williams Family Kitchen and he couldn’t be happier about delivering his family’s delicious foods to fans.
“(My father’s) recipes are so good – my whole family is addicted to his cooking,” Pharrell told People magazine, revealing he and his dad, Pharoah, made a sweet pact before going into business together: “Our father-son agreement was that he would make food with healthier ingredients that were a better choice for his lifestyle and would essentially help add years to his life.” Food isn’t the only entrepreneurial Pharrell has tapped his talents into – he is also running a successful fashion business with his clothing line Billionaire Boys Club and has a multimedia creative collective, called i am OTHER.
